Since Sierra Leone civil war was ended in 2002, restoration and recovery work are carried out in Sierra Leone by the global cooperation. However, the electric power supply systems are not built enough for the economic growth.
Because of capacity shortage and aging of electric generation・distribution plants and electric transmission・distribution loss, voltage drop and blackout happen frequently. There are still many un-electrification homes in the capital city, Freetown.
We provided upgrading of the substations for distribution lines, restoration and stretched the existing distribution lines, and procurement of relevant materials for this project in Freetown metro area. This project contributes stability of electric supply, increasing electrification home, activated local economy・social activity, and improvement of civilian environment.
