The Project for Improvement of Substations and Distribution             Network 2018(Phase 2)/ The Republic of Rwanda

<<Project Background>>
In Rwanda, the electrification rate was 24.5% in 2015. Also, the electric generator’s installed capacity was 160MW, which was still too low. The distribution network was insufficient. The capital, Kigali accounted for 64% of all electricity consumption. However, the electric power supply was not enough for the electricity consumption. Therefore, it was afraid that the unstable electricity supply could cause some problems for economic activity and people’s lives. Through this project, we built new substations and supported the village of Ndrera, Kigali to rebuild and spread its distribution network. We will continue to contribute toward the stabilization of the electric supply and the improvement of the economy in Rwanda.
