The Republic of Suriname/ Assistance for Disaster Prevention
(Economic and Social Development Plan) 

We have contracted "Assistance for Disaster Prevention (Economic and Social Development Plan)"
for The Republic of Suriname.

Suriname is vulnerable to natural disasters, and when disasters occur, its economic and social infrastructure
tends to be suffered severely. The heavy rains and subsequent floods that continued from March to June 2022
caused severe damage in several regions and prompted requests for assistance from the international community.

It is expected that this project will strengthen the country's disaster response capabilities in the event of flooding,
thereby contributing to the country's economic and social development.

Our scope is removal of the two existing pumps in drainage pump station, procurement and installation of 3 draining pump units, 2 retractable board units, and 3 pump launching board units and training service.

Through this project, we will contribute to the SDGs Goal 7 "Ensure Access to Affordable reliable, sustainable,
and modern energy for all," Goal 9 "Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and innovations" Goal 11 "Make cities and human settlements inclusive safe, resilient and sustainable.” and Goal 13
“Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.”.
