The Project for Introduction of Clean Energy by Solar                           Electricity Generation System / The Oriental Republic of Uruguay

<<Project Background>>
Uruguay has experienced electricity supply shortages, an increase of CO2 emissions from thermal power plants, and repressed economic revitalization resulting from increased electric costs. This country is affected by the fluctuating crude oil prices and decreases in hydropower generation due to droughts because the country doesn’t produce fossil fuels such as petroleum, coal, or natural gas. Therefore, the introduction of renewable energy sources such as solar power is a major goal in its energy strategy because the installation of renewable energy mitigates issues related to fossil fuels and is not harmful to the environment.
In this project, we supported the initial construction of solar modules and a solar generation. This system contributed to an increase in electric generation capacity, energy source diversification, and increased awareness about renewable energy.
