Contract Award: Project for the Stabilization of Power Supply in Tamale City (Republic of Ghana)

　Takaoka Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "TEC"; President: Akihiko Ichikawa; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a subsidiary of Takaoka Toko Co., Ltd. (President: Takashi Ichinose; Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo), has been awarded a contract by Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) of the Republic of Ghana, located in West Africa, for the "Project for the Stabilization of Power Supply in Tamale City " (hereinafter the "Project").

　Tamale, the regional capital of the Northern Region of Ghana, is one of the country's four major cities. It serves as a commercial center and vital transportation hub along the north-south corridor within the West Africa Growth Ring, connecting Burkina Faso and Accra, Ghana's capital. The Project involves constructing a new primary substation (hereinafter "RCC Primary Substation") in the Regional Coordinating Council area of Tamale, which houses administrative agencies and medical institutions. It is funded through Japan's Grant Aid.

　In recent years, rapid economic growth in Tamale has led to severe power system shortages, making supply disruptions a critical issue. By constructing the RCC Primary Substation,The Project aims to expand distribution infrastructure capacity and stabilize the power supply in central Tamale.

This initiative is expected to build a foundation for high-quality economic growth while contributing to improved living standards and local community development.

　To execute the project, TEC formed a consortium with Marubeni Protechs Corporation (President: Kentaro Kai; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo). TEC will collectively handle all EPC-related work, including engineering, civil and construction works, procurement, and installation of electrical equipment, as well as maintenance and operational training.

　In May 2026, TEC completed the "Project for Emergency Rehabilitation and Reinforcement of Lagos Transmission Substations" in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (under Japanese government grant aid). TEC is currently executing the contract for the "Project for the Extension of Power Distribution Network along the Freetown Peninsula" in the Republic of Sierra Leone (also under Japanese government grant aid). Ghana is the 11th African country in which TEC has secured contracts.

　TEC will continue to actively expand business operations in Ghana and across Africa, where ongoing growth is expected. The company remains committed to enhancing living standards and economic development through power infrastructure projects encompassing transmission, substations, distribution, and generation.
